Updating Your cPanel Notification Settings

cpanel

A handy feature included in cPanel is the Contact Information section. This feature allows you to determine if notices concerning your cPanel account should be sent to you via e-mail. In addition to this, you can also specify which e-mail address the notices should be sent to.

You can edit this information using the following steps:

1. Log in to cPanel.

2. Click on the blue button at the top of the page which contains your cPanel user name and select Contact Information.

3. On the Contact Information page, you will presented with the following:
  • This is an email address at which the system can contact you: This field contains your primary contact address. As suggested, "This should be an email address that is not on your account." (i.e. if your domain name is yourcompany.co.za, then the contact e-mail address cannot be yourmail@yourcompany.co.za).
  • If you wish to provide a second email address to receive notifications, enter it here: This is useful if you wish to ensure that you do not miss any of the notices or if you want the person who manages your IT services to also receive a copy.

The Contact Preferences section will allow you to choose which types of notifications you receive.

Once you have made your selection, click on the blue Save button.
