The following steps will assist you in setting your e-mail account up in Entourage 2008:
2. On the Edit Account screen, perform the following steps:
- Account Name: Enter a descriptive name for the account.
- Name: Enter your name. This is the name that will appear in the From field of messages you send.
- E-mail address: Enter your e-mail address (e.g.: mail@example.com).
- Account ID: Enter your e-mail using lowercase characters (e.g.: mail@example.com).
- POP server: mail.yourdomain (e.g.: mail.example.com)
- Password: Enter the password for your e-mail account.
3. Select Click here for advanced receiving options, located below the POP server box. In the pop-up screen, do the following:
- Do not check the This POP service requires a secure connection (SSL) box.
- Ensure the POP port is: 110
- Leave the Always use secure password box unchecked.
- Click the Close button, located in the upper left corner.
5. Select Click here for advanced sending options, located below the SMTP server box. In the pop-up screen, do the following:
- Do not check the SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL) box.
- Check the Override default SMTP port box, and set the port to: 587
- Check the SMTP server requires authentication box.
- Click the Use same settings as receiving mail server radio button.
- Click the Close button, located in the upper left corner.
6. Select the OK button.
7. Click the Close button, located in the upper left corner.
